Position the grid in front of the slide
In the editor settings one you can check the "Grid" option which "displays a grid behind the slide to help aligning". It would be nice to have an option for positioning the grid in front of the slide because when I want to overlap several larger elements then the first one already covers the grid and since that part of the grid is not visible anymore it consequentially doesn't help aligning anymore (apart from snapping).
3 votesGreat idea! We’ve added a new option for this in the Editor Settings. Let us know if you encounter any issues.

Make Buttons and Text optional in Presentation mode - e.g. enabled full screen button, disabled share button and by author line
Status quo: There are 3 styles to choose when embedding the iframe.
1. Dark style with by author line, share and full screen button
2. All the same but in Light
3. Hidden. All Elements are hiddenWhy is it useful to make the elements (by author line, share and full screen button) optional?
E.g. our use case is to embed the slides on our page as teaching material.
Of course it's really useful for the students to make the slides bigger --> full screen, but as there is already our logo on our web page we don't want the…6 votesHey! We’ve added two new embed options that let you hide the byline and share button. Try generating your embed code again with both of those options turned on and you should only see the fullscreen button in the footer.

To fix the broken "zip" export
"Creating ZIP" for several minutes, then back to "Download ZIP" without download.
Same behaviour on various browsers and OS.
Pro Plan.
2 votesThe ZIP export issues from earlier this week should be fixed now. Please let us know if you still experience any issues.

Hide sidebar in editor view
On laptops with small screens the black sidebar takes up too much space. When editing large slides, the editable space is clipped and you can't access the entire slide because there is no way to scroll the editor or hide the sidebar. Please add a toggle to the top level and contextual options in the sidebar to hide them when editing slides.
30 votesThanks for the suggestion! We decided to address the clipped workspace when editing large slides in a different way instead.
As of today, the editor will automatically scale slide content down to fit any display size. That means no more clipping or unreachable content on small screens.
Demo: https://twitter.com/slides/status/1015162515263770625
We don’t have any plans for adding an option to hide the sidebar at this time but hopefully the above change solves the layout issue for you.

Fragment on outlines (nested lists)
Add the possibility to add fragments to the lines of an outline, ie a nested ordered or un ordered list. This already work at the first level of a list but doesn't work if you have a lists inside a lists inside a list...
- first
- first on first
- second on first
- second
- first on second
4 votesWe just released a major redesign of the fragment mode to address a few different issues:
1. There’s a new sidebar where you can see all elements on the slide listed out. This lets you reach overlapping elements and enables you to create nested fragments (useful for nested bullet lists).
2. As soon as there are two or more fragments, a new interface will appear that allows you to preview fragments without leaving the current view.
3. There’s a new button for resetting all fragments.
Let us know if you run into any issues or have any comments.
Thanks!

Bug: Subscript and superscripts (sub/sup HTML tags) should make text smaller
Using HTML editor on developer mode I add some sub and sup HTML tags, for example to add an exponent. The text is moved up/down but with the same font size. Maybe this Wikipedia text is helpful: "the superscript is about 60% of the original characters, raised by about 44% above the baseline".
1 voteThanks for the feedback! We’ve made sub/super slightly smaller now. We use the same relative size as Chrome (“font-size: smaller;”).

Copy to clipboard from code snippets
I show code snippets a lot, and it would be convenient for the audience to be able to have a copy-to-clipboard option. Yes, they can drag and select, but for larger code samples, that's awkward.
1 voteThis has been added 🚀
If you hover over a code block anywhere outside of the editor, a blue Copy button will appear in the top right corner.

BUG: Objects move when entering text box
Suppose there's an object (e.g., arrow) directly below a text box containing LaTeX math stuff, in such a way that:
when entering the text box to edit the text, the formula expands to the original LaTeX source, taking up more text lines than the formula itself. The textbox is made larger (expanded downwards), and the object directly below it is pushed down. When leaving the text box, the LaTeX source is replaced by the much shorter formula, the textbox shrinks, but the object below it doesn't return to the original position.
1 voteThis should be fixed now. Can you reload the editor and give it another try? Thanks.

code padding
It would be nice if I could set padding for code blocks
1 voteThis has been added! If you’ve got the editor open you’ll need to reload to see the change.

Speaker notes react to user agent
Tried using the speaker notes in VR (High Fidelity), but a problem is that Slides.com seem to react to the user agent of the browser in a way that makes it difficult to use the speakernotes. If the user agent contains "mobile" it seems to default to the mobile, touch screen, setting even if the screen is large.
If there was a way to override the mobile version by using some kind of string in the url (like "?not-mobile") it would be possible to use the notes even on devices that happens to for some reason send the mobile user…

New drag and drop slide arrangement broke my edit workflow
The new drag and drop feature for the slide arrangement is awesome, but it broke my editing workflow.
I move between slides a lot during editing, so I used to press "esc" -> "arrow keys" -> "enter" to move from one slide to another. With the current version (Feb 2018) "enter" is not recognized anymore when opening the "slides overview" in edit mode.
Works perfectly in presentation mode, btw.
3 votesThanks for the feedback! We’ve revised the keyboard navigation so you should be able to use the arrow keys followed by Enter to jump between slides again.

Support reveal's lazy loading feature
https://github.com/hakimel/reveal.js#lazy-loading
I use a lot of images and iframes, so this is essential. It ought to be the default (and maybe it is).
1 voteWe use reveal.js’ lazy-loading with the default viewDistance setting (3) for all Slides presentations. I don’t think it makes sense to expose viewDistance as a setting since it’s not something most people need to think about.

Add Twig to the list of languages for syntax highlighting
Twig is a pretty popular template engine for PHP and it misses in the list of selectable languages in the code editor although highlight.js supports it: https://github.com/isagalaev/highlight.js/blob/master/src/languages/twig.js
Would be great, having it on the list.

Let fragments fade out partially to lead focus of observers
I would like to let fragments on slides readable but losing some opacity when fading in the next fragment. So viewers follow my speed of speech, but may still see the last topic on that slide.
6 votesWe’ve added two new fragment styles for this. The first option starts with the element visible and then fades it out 50%.
The other starts with the element hidden, shows it when it is the current fragment, and then fades out 50% afterwards.

Make the "Edit" button a link to support opening decks in new tabs
I often want to open up multiple decks for review/editing. I'd like to be able to "ctrl-click" the Edit icon to open in a new tab... but since they are buttons and not links, this doesn't work. Can you change them to a link styled as a button to support this? Thanks!
3 votesGood feedback, thanks! That button has been swapped out for a link.

Sort decks in folders
Hi,
I love using slides and have a lot of decks in it. I use it for very different subjects. It would be really nice if you can put your decks in folders!
Kind reagrds
Henk7 votesHey! We’ve made it possible to organize decks using tags. Each tag has a unique URL so that you can share them.

\underbrace support
Hi,
I want to use \underbrace in my slides to add some notes to maths.
Version 0.8.0 of KaTeX added support for \overbrace and \underbrace (see https://github.com/Khan/KaTeX/releases/tag/v0.8.0) so it should be fine if you update KaTeX to the latest one. Thanks,
pandaman9 votesKaTeX has been updated to 0.10.0, so we now support \underbrace as well as all of the functions listed here: https://khan.github.io/KaTeX/docs/supported.html
As part of this we’ve made it easier to update KaTeX versions in the future so we can avoid falling so far behind again 🚀

Add TypeScript syntax highlighting
Would be great to see TypeScript and Flow added as supported syntax languages!
3 votesWe’ve added TypeScript to the list of syntax highlighting languages.
Flow isn’t supported by the software we use for syntax highlighting (highlight.js) so unfortunately we’re not able to add that.
Thanks for the feedback!

expand the speaker note canvas.
I'm currently drafting them in a separate app and copying/pasting due to the limited window size.
It would be wonderful to have more space along with toggle and export features as suggested by others.
1 voteYou’re right that the note input window was way too small. We’ve increased the size to more than double what it was previously.
The plan is to make it possible to toggle the notes window on and keep it visible as you step between slides too, which I think will make for a much better workflow.
Thanks for the feedback.

Mark/ copy more than one element at one time from one slide to another in the same deck
Is there any possibility to mark or copy more than one element at one time from one slide to another in the same deck? Normally you do this with STRG/ CTRL (holding and clicking) but this doesnt work - or just for me? Hope it works and I just don't knot the proper shortcut. Otherwise I hope this post is new and is not existing already.
3 votesHey! This is already supported, the shortcut is SHIFT + click. We also support CTRL/CMD + A to select all.
One more option is to click and drag on the empty canvas, this way you can select all elements within an area.
