objects insensitive to editor
A .insensitive or similar class that locks an object from being editable using the WYSIWYG editor.
Essential for sharing and cloning presentations to those who shouldn't be able to accidentally edit custom crafted parts of layouts.
I tried using CSS user-select and webkit touch rules but the editor seems to still allow it.

Sounds good. I'm hoping that means individual slides can be given a theme than we can create a theme for canonical slides that contain lots of elements that should not be changed.
Guess we'll have to see it to know for sure

Unfortunately we haven't found a reliable way to exclude certain elements inside of a "contenteditable" region from being deleted. For example, CMD/CTRL+A to select everything followed by backspace will still delete it.
We do recognize the need for "locked" elements though and have worked to address that in the new theme editor. The theme editor allows for custom CSS as well as custom HTML (amongst other things). Any custom HTML entered there will live outside of the slides, making it a great place for fixed elements like a company logo or copyright notice. This new editor is being rolled out for testing right now and will be made available to Pro users sometime in a few weeks. We'll connect to you via email about getting early access to it.
