Improving Performance for Large Presentations with Heavy Media Content
Hi everyone 👋
I’ve been working on several presentations in Slides that include high-resolution images, embedded videos, and animated elements. As the deck grows larger, I’ve started noticing slower loading times and slight lag when editing or presenting.
I’d like to open a discussion about best practices for handling large, media-heavy presentations in Slides.
My questions:
Is there an optimal image resolution or file size recommended for smooth performance?
Does embedding videos directly impact loading speed compared to linking external sources?
Are there specific settings or workflow tips to improve responsiveness while editing?
Has anyone experienced performance differences between browsers?
What I’ve observed:
Larger image files seem to increase initial load time.
Presentations with many animated elements can feel slightly less responsive in edit mode.
I’d love to hear how others manage complex presentations while keeping performance smooth. Any workflow optimizations, compression strategies, or technical insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
