Are you splitting up your scss into smaller files such as 'typography' or 'navigation' and then importing them into a global css doc?
Can't go wrong with sass and bem. If it's super big and you have a lot of individual css files it might be good to maintain a text file with the css files and their components listed. Otherwise just commenting above your major and more confusing chunks of code with the name, description, and potential modifiers of the component would probably suffice https://www.mygroundbiz.website/
