full navigation control for remote control
While using phone as remote control would be nice to have the horizontal AND vertical controls...sometimes I use vertical slides as optional stuff I might want to skip...with remote it just plays them all.
1 voteThanks for the feedback.
It’s actually already possible to navigate both horizontally and vertically using the remote control view. Try swiping in the direction that you want to navigate. Tapping on the other hand steps through all slides in the presentation, both vertical and horizontal.

Animation effects for elements
Have you planned to add animation effects to the elements? It's the only thing missing to make your software even more awesome than it is and compete with Keynote. Cheers
94 votesNow you can add animations to elements! There’s a few different preset intro animations to pick from and you can freely control the duration/delay.
This option is available in the sidebar when an element is highlighted: https://s3.amazonaws.com/static.slid.es/support/sidebar-animation.png

Make all fragment styles reveal.js offers available in slides.com
I've got text that I want to show it changes over time by layering each version of the text on top of each other and use fragment to transition between them. It would be nice to select from all the available fragment styles reveal.js has (http://lab.hakim.se/reveal-js/#/7/1) but I'm most in need of the
current-visible
style.10 votesIt’s now possible to select from multiple different fragment styles using the Slides editor. We included support for most (but not all) reveal.js fragment styles. More info and examples here: http://slides.com/news/fragment-styles

Change profile photo without gravatar
A common strategy for signing up for services online is to add an identifier in the email.
e.g: john+Identifier@email.com
For accounts registered in this way gravatar can not find the photo/email. Having a fallback to gravatar in order to upload the photo would be great.
20 votesWe have added the ability to upload profile pictures.
Gravatar—our previous third party solution for profile pictures—is now only used as a fallback if you haven’t uploaded a picture.

Allow *background* image source to be a URL
Much like http://help.slides.com/forums/175819-general/suggestions/6287609-allow-image-source-to-be-a-url-instead-of-upload but for background images too.
11 votesWe allow you to set background images from URL now. Look for the small link icon in the header of the window that appears when you’re prompted to select a background image.

Add YAML to the list of languages for syntax highlighting (code editor)
YAML's pretty common these days, I was surprised it isn't there.
1 voteThanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately this isn’t possible since YAML isn’t supported by the syntax highlighting library that we’re using (highlight.js).
UPDATE: YAML is now supported by highlight.js and available in the Slides editor.

Drag and drop to rearrange slides
The arrange mode gives an overview of the slides but the system for moving them was non-obvious to me and very cumbersome: moving a slide across the deck is requires as many clicks as there are slides!
I would rather drag-and-drop the slides, perhaps you could have a drag icon/handle.
116 votesWe just rolled out the new arrange mode! The new version is entirely drag-and-drop based. Plus, we’ve made it possible to select and drag or delete multiple slides at once so that you can work faster.
Please let us know if you run into any issues and we’ll address them as soon as possible. Thanks!

Accept speaker notes from imported html file
given the <aside class="notes"> block used by reveal.js, it should be straightforward to accept speaker notes from imported html file, at least for the first 300 characters of the notes in each slide.
Very surprised that accepting also the speaker notes from an imported file is not supported!
3 votesThis has been added. Going forward, imports will convert notes to Slides’ notes storage format.

Add Drop Shadow as an option for Text
It's widely supported in CSS so can be done as a custom CSS trick but it's really useful when working with text over a background image and would be nice to have in the visual editor?
40 votesWe’ve now added support for drop-shadow and blur effects. These work for all types of content blocks, including text.
Let us know if you have any feedback!

Share without ability to fork
Hi!
I would like to have the ability to share my decks without the ability for other users to fork it. Is this possible? One option would be to set the deck private but is there an alternative so that other people can still see my decks?

Enhanced performance of GIF files
… Would be great if GIFs only played on page load rather than playing constantly. They often end up half way through when you get to that slide.
10 votesGIFs now start playing when their containing slide is shown. This ensures they’ll always start from the beginning.
This logic is applied to both on-slide and background images. However restarting GIFs used as background images does not work in Firefox.

Scala highlighting in code editor
Add syntax highlighting for Scala code
0 votesScala is already supported. I’ve linked to an example below:

Copy individual slide between decks
Making slides is usually a matter of copy-and-paste from an old deck into a new deck (at least in Powerpoint). Copying is either a selection of elements from a slide, or one or more complete slides.
However I found it impossible to do copy-and-paste between different decks at slides.com. It is possible to clone an existing one - but what if it is too late or I want to copy from multiple sources?
4 votesIt’s now possible to easily copy Slides from any of your other decks. If you’re a member of a Slides Team, you can browse and insert individual slides from other team members too.
More info about inserting slides from other decks can be found here: https://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/583992-how-do-i-copy-slides-between-decks

Give us an option to not preload a slide
I have a large presentation file with many iframes to demo content within.
This causes the load of the presentation to lag whilst it spends ages preloading all of the content.
Either give us a global switch to not preload or perhaps a control within the 'iframe' option that allows us to determine if the content is preloaded or loaded when the slide comes into view.
1 voteJust confirmed this to be working. Iframes are only loaded for the three nearest slides. This is checked every time you navigate, if a new iframe appears within the 3-slide distance it will start loading.

Better quality for PDF export
Could we choose the PDF export quality (in pro version) ?
For now, the assets (images) are really poor quality :/8 votesPDF export quality has been greatly improved and all font families and styles will now come through in the output.
We replaced our whole PDF generation pipeline with new software. This change means that quality is higher and presentations will look identical to how they do in a modern browser (Safari 8 to be specific).
This also applies to deck thumbnails.

Support 16:9 slide aspect ratio
At conferences, most stages now have a 16:9 aspect ratio. It would be really great if slides will support authoring decks in that format (+ export).
166 votesThis has been added!xx You can now select from multiple different aspect ratios in the presentation settings. It’s even possible to define your own custom resolution.

Ability to add directed lines and arrows
I would love the ability to add simple lines with arrowheads to point from one element to another on my slides.
I am requesting this here because there really is no simple workaround. Users are forced to paste an image of a line with a 38° tilt and an arrowhead.
Of course, no line tool would be complete without dashed and dotted styles. Thank you for considering this suggestion.
82 votesYou can now add directed lines and arrows through the new line content block!

Remove the character limit on speakers notes.
Or at least raise the limit. 200 characters is debilitatingly small. It significantly reduces the usefulness of the tool!
5 votesThis limit has been raised to 300 characters. More info in the comments.

Export HTML Including Assets for Offline
HTML export into ZIP file with all assets such as images, JS, CSS, fonts, etc. The current HTML export only gives you the HTML where the assets are still online. I would still need the internet to run it.
8 votesZIP download is now available in the editor Export panel! The downloaded archive includes all of the JS, CSS and images required for full offline access. This also provides a neat package for those who want to host their own content.
This feature is only available for Pro and Team users.
