Set 16:9 slide aspect ratio as default for new decks
The support for 16:9 requires resetting the templates every new deck. Could this be made a global preference for new decks created from templates?

We're switching to 16:9 by default for all new decks. This is part of a larger update with many new editor features and is still some time away from completion.
We don't have an option for setting a default ratio and that could be useful. Right now I believe many get around this by basing their next deck on a copy of a previous deck, which carries over the aspect ratio.
