  1. Keyboard shortcut to maximize Iframes (instead of upscaling them)

Often I embed interactive experiences and visualizations. When scaled up they look blurry. I would like to have those iFrames change size to fill up the full screen rather than scale up, as they are responsive and would handle the full resolution well. (either automatically or via user input would be fine)

    Thanks for the feedback.

The best way around this is to insert your iframe as a slide background instead. Backgrounds are not scaled—they are sized to cover 100% of the available browser width and height.

Slide Backgrounds are available from the right-hand menu near Slide Settings and Speaker Notes (see attached). Hope that helps!

  2. Slide themes

Can Slides have themes? I typically add my own fonts via Typekit, then add some css, then some slide templates. Can all these be saved as a theme that I can apply to future talks?

Right now I have to do this whole thing manually.

We already support slide themes and have a theme editor for making them. However this functionality is currently only available on the Team plan: https://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/293990-theme-editor

I think this could be useful for individuals too. There’s a separate suggestion already available for that if you want to add your votes: https://help.slides.com/forums/175819-general/suggestions/36788983-theme-editor-for-pro-membership

  3. Using slides.com for websites development?

Hello, I am front-end webs developer from Lithuania. Recently I tried out slides.com (presentations is my hobby) and realy enjoyed it. After finding out, that HTML and CSS are fully costomizable I thought of using it for developing simple static websites with it. What's the negative thing about it? Seems like slides.com is fully dedicated for presenations and not websites, even known they are 1 step away from actually becoming some kind of content management system. What about using it for this purpouse in current state?

Hey! Thanks for contacting us. We realize that our editor could technically be used to create a many different kinds of content but we think it’s important to focus on one use case. We’d rather be really great at presentations than just “okay” at a bunch of things :)

That said – people have already used Slides to create simple websites. You can either embed via an iframe or export to ZIP and host it yourself. The ZIP export includes all HTML, CSS, JS, images and fonts.

  4. Add styles directly to a block

Now I need to open the HTML editor and find the element then edit the style attributes. I want to edit it directly, under the "class name" field at the left side.

Also, I hope I can add classname and edit the style of the selected text, not only font size or color.

  6. Stay focused :)

honestly, I think that this product got it really in the first incarnation and the next one is totally wrong, going to compete in a crowded market is almost never a good idea while saying stick to your niche and trying to convert users... Did you read the last Peter Thiel book?

Anyway, In the OLD version I would just introduce different templates ready to use. I love the default one but having choice out-of-the-box is nice.

To be honest the only other thing that I miss is the ability to draw some shapes. Basic ones, to create very simple…

Thanks for taking the time to send feedback. We’re not planning to add any new functionality to the old editor as we want to stay focused on the new one and making that as good as can be. I’m confident we can make the new editor feel more easily approachable to non-designers as well.

  8. Charge per presentation

This $7/mo plan is nonsense for those who don't do a presentation every month.

Why not charge $7 to unlock premium features on a specific presentation, or some other value?

Thanks for the feedback but we don’t currently have any plans for changing our pricing model.

The pricing model is likely to be adjusted over time, but that decision will be made internally.

  9. Check that links to other slides work; some do, some don't.

On Note 8/Android 4.1.2 this occurs. On Ubuntu 12.04 Firefox 22.0 it works.

There’s no official support for internal links yet so we won’t be chasing this one down. Instead we’d like to focus on adding GUI support for links between slides.

  10. Pinterest integration

Immediately load JavaScript. For best results, put it just above your closing </BODY> tag:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

  11. Ability to add slides in upward and left direction.

Great work with reveal. Because of your service, I am able to present like a showman. Ability to add slides in upward and left direction will make the service more uniform, and even more useful in cases like a business model presentation.

We think this would add too much clutter to the UI. If you need to add slides “backwards” you can always navigate to the previous slide and then press the add slide icons.

  12. HTTP IFrame Content

I was quite excited about this service as the big point of difference was the iframe option. However, I have since discovered that it does not allow HTTP based iFrames.

Any chance this can be changed? Or can I provide a link / domain that could be allowed through?

We originally supported HTTP iframe content, however an HTTP iframe can’t load on a HTTPS page. All of slides.com will be served over HTTPS soon, so we’re not allowing insecure iframe URLs since they won’t work in your presentations. Hope that makes sense.

  15. Add the option to make a fragment be normal again

(Perhaps)In the fragments editor, there is an "X"-type button that make the selected fragment part of the normal slide.

All clicks on elements in the fragment editor toggle fragments on/off. So if you want to return an element to its “normal” state again you just need to click on it.

Sorry but we don’t have any plans for adding Flash support. The best workaround – as was mentioned in the comments – is to host the SWF file on another site and embed it into your presentation using an iframe element. Haven’t tested this myself but it should work.

This is a great suggestion but unfortunately not technically possible :/ We can’t access the operating system clipboard. Instead we implement our own clipboard and copy-paste logic but that only works in the scope of one editor session.

The confirm button label is “Sign up” when creating a new account and “Sign in” when signing in to an existing account. We like these labels and don’t have any plans for changing them.

Scrolling code blocks isn’t possible on mobile devices since we use touch interactions to change slides. You’ll need to keep the code sample smaller, reduce the font size or split it into multiple slides instead.
