blank theme
Allow selection of a blank theme for color type transition etc where there is no CSS pre-applied.
It would also be great if the palette picker down the side just adds a class number to background and foreground divs so that they can be styled with css without attribute selector hacks.

7 votesThis has been completed. Blank theme options are currently only available in the theme editor but will be introduced to the normal Slides editor after some time of testing.

Give each page in a deck its own URL.
- To allow linking from any other site to a specific page within a deck
- To allow reload of specific page in 'fullscreen' after editing
- To align with the restfulness of the interwebs and all that jazz and of course it should be aligned with internal(relative) links
9 votesThis has been a frequent request so we turned on unique URLs on the standard presentation pages a week ago. If you go to a deck, like http://slides.com/news/overpass/, the URL will update with each slide navigation.
We may revisit this to use the history API at a later point as that would produce nicer URLs while not filling up the browser history.

Improved Syntax Highlighting
It would be great if syntax highlighting could already be seen in the edit mode, or at least in the preview mode, otherwise it is a real surprise when all of the sudden some code is highlighted you did not expect.
It certainly surprised me the first time.
And it would be great, if the language if the syntax highlighting (HTML, Javascript, Python, etc.) could also be somehow set within the interface.5 votes -
SSL for private slides
Many online collaboration platforms already secure content over SSL, and many browsers simply block embeds from non-SSL sources on SSL pages.
Embedding decks in the upgraded edition should be over SSL, or whatever protocol the main page is in. This is why the YouTube embed code doesn't give "http://' in the source attribute, it just gives "//" so the videos can be embedded on SSL pages.
3 votesThe share panel now generates protocol relative embed paths, so embedding a deck under a secure domain will automatically use the SSL route to the deck.

add a foreground attribute that links to a background selector
A UI to add selectors to slides (for linking background and foreground slides when writing CSS).
Similar to what setting an attribute for data-state="" on a <section> does to the <body> when using reveal.js except this time on the relevant backgrounds element.
Allowing more than one selector would be great too

Leader/Audience viewing modes
Allow the author of a slide to set the presentation into "audience mode"
Where the authors slide position is followed by the anyone else with the link.
This would kill elluminate webex and even google hangouts when presenting via voice calls as the quality can't be matched over video compression.
This would also be perfect for crowd participation for iframe style content where things like audience voting can be started / turned off
This would also be great for launching live events via a slid.es deck

Have a Way to view How much Space you've used out of your 250 mb (or 2gb on pro plan)
For some reason I can't seem to locate how much of my storage I've used up on my account.
If this is not a feature I feel it should be added.
Cheers.

Recognize automatically YouTube URL
Hello,
I think that when you recognize that your user copy-paste a YouTube url like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXY-aBAlgC8
you should replace it in javascript with the corresponding html code
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/XXY-aBAlgC8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
That is what gmail does.
I think that if you do that, it will be easy for people like me to show to john doe users that we can do much better than that PowerPoint thing :-)

Add keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-K (Add URL) and "?" (Show keyboard shortcuts)
Hello,
First I really don't regret to went pro, your software is really useful.
A little thing that bothered me is that I had to add many URLs and I wasn't able to use the Ctrl-K (or Command-K on macs) shortcut that works in all google prodcuts (gmail, google docs, ...) and even in Word
Another standard shortcut would be "?" to show... well, the available keyboard shortcuts.
Thanks,
Jean-Michel

Give yourselves a huge pat on the back.
Your slider is the only fast loading, easy to use slider I've found to use on my responsive Blogger blog. It seems to work across browsers and is seriously clean and fast. Thank you!

[bug] once editing in a code block, you can't get out and back to the regular text...
once editing in a code block, you can't get out and back to the regular text, I typically have to go into the HTML editor and add a ul.li tag after the div code block to be able to continue editing using the graphical UI.
2 votesThis has been fixed. Going forward, the editor will automatically insert an empty line after code and blockquote elements.

Allow using images as slide backgrounds
First, just wanna say thanks for creating the service! This is a slide authoring framework full of potentials. Just check out what I was able to do with some additional CSS knowledge:
http://slid.es/gsklee/functional-programming-in-5-minutes
But that's also the issue - you need some CSS knowledge and a lot of works to get some really rich effect. It would be great if the service can one day provide built-in support for all the advanced techniques used in the example slide, though I'd like to highlight one feature, which is "using images as slide backgrounds", 'cause it's really a great addition to have…
29 votesWe have added the ability to set background images. It’s an icon right underneath the icon for setting a background color. You can also change the transition between backgrounds in the Style panel.

[bug] unable to select top image surrounded by larger image in "freely position" mode
Cause: current selection supersedes z index in "freely position" mode when calculating hover selection. Since it is necessary to pass the mouse over the outer (lower) image to get to the inner (top) image, it is impossible to select the inner image with a relative pointing device.
To reproduce:
- Insert a large and small image into a slide.
- Switch to "freely position" mode
- Push small image "to top" button
- Move small image to is is surrounded by larger image.
- Move the mouse cursor outside the larger image, then back in and over the smaller image.
Result: the larger image is…
1 voteThe new Slides editor is always in “free positioning mode”, and handles layering much more gracefully.

iframe bug
Is you add an iframe in HTML editing mode:
<iframe src="i.html" width="400" height="400" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>upon saving, slid.es scrambles it to be:
<iframe src="i.html" width="400" height="400" scrolling="no" frameborder="0">&nbsp;</iframe>Which seems to break the viewer as well.
3 votesFixed – will not happens to inserted iframes going forward.

Is there a way to disable comments?
First of all, I love Slid.es. Thank you so much for a wonderful HTML5 presentation solution. So sick of powerpoint!
Basically, I would like to start distributing my slide decks but need to be able to disable the comments first. Is there a way to do this that I may be missing? If not it'd be great to have to "enable/disable comments" toggle for each slide deck, if not for each than I could settle for even a global toggle (all slide decks).
Thanks!7 votesIt’s now possible to disable comments, see http://slides.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/255205-comments
