It would be nice to support changing higlight.js theme.
The default (zenburn?) code highlight theme is unreadable when presenting on projector.
At least some black on white would be very useful.27 votes
We’ve added 11 different highlight themes that you can choose from!
This is available through next to where you select language, see: http://static.slid.es.s3.amazonaws.com/social/slides-highlight-theme.gif
I'd like to have more than 300 characters for speaker notes and allow the speaker notes section to be scrollable within the presenter view.
I usually number my notes so I know when to reference a new fragment in my slide.14 votes
We’ve removed the 300-character limit on speaker notes!
Notes that are 300+ characters long may not be immediately visible but they can be accessed by scrolling.
embebed export presentation to be responsive1 vote
The presentation inside of the embedded iframe is already responsive. However you the embedding site will need to use CSS to resize the iframe element based on viewport size and layout.
In some cases it might be enough to change the “width” attribute in the embed code to 100%.
Possibility to export speaker notes (within the pdf export of the slides)1 vote
This is now supported through the new “Share notes” option. Find out more here: http://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/729753-sharing-decks-with-speaker-notes
I want to be able to just copy and paste pictures in my presentation instead of screen shoting something and then having to download it from my drive.1 vote
Hey. It’s already possible to copy and paste images directly from your clipboard. Here’s an example where I right click to copy and press CMD+V to paste in the Slides editor: http://static.slid.es.s3.amazonaws.com/social/slides-copy-paste-image.gif
Note that this only works if you haven’t already copied a block of content inside of the Slides editor. If you’ve already copied a block you can reload the editor. Those two conflict because we have our own copy-paste logic in the editor and can not tap into the operating system’s own logic.
At conferences, most stages now have a 16:9 aspect ratio. It would be really great if slides will support authoring decks in that format (+ export).
This has been added!xx You can now select from multiple different aspect ratios in the presentation settings. It’s even possible to define your own custom resolution.
Much like http://help.slides.com/forums/175819-general/suggestions/6287609-allow-image-source-to-be-a-url-instead-of-upload but for background images too.11 votes
We allow you to set background images from URL now. Look for the small link icon in the header of the window that appears when you’re prompted to select a background image.
I've got text that I want to show it changes over time by layering each version of the text on top of each other and use fragment to transition between them. It would be nice to select from all the available fragment styles reveal.js has (http://lab.hakim.se/reveal-js/#/7/1) but I'm most in need of the `current-visible` style.10 votes
It’s now possible to select from multiple different fragment styles using the Slides editor. We included support for most (but not all) reveal.js fragment styles. More info and examples here: http://slides.com/news/fragment-styles
You offer AutoPlay for YouTube and Vimeo only, while Wistia, being a well known runner up, doesn't offer one.
Sure, you could use parameter ?autoPlay=true, but Slides.com does not play nicely with that and starts playing all iframes as soon as presentation loads, instead of when entering slide.
That bug is solved by using the provided AutoPlay feature, which is currently not offered for Wistia.3 votes
It'd be great if there was an option to not only resize, but also rotate elements (eg images, text boxes etc.)187 votes
This has been added! Now you can grab any corner of a selected element to rotate it. The angle is displayed in the toolbar so that you can apply the same rotation to multiple elements or set a specific number.
Here’s a quick screen recording showing how it works: http://static.slid.es.s3.amazonaws.com/support/rotation.gif
It would be useful to be able to command-click to select more than one object at a time. I have been trying to make some cool shapes, but sadly I have to remake them every time I create a new slide piece by piece!3 votes
I would love the ability to add simple lines with arrowheads to point from one element to another on my slides.
I am requesting this here because there really is no simple workaround. Users are forced to paste an image of a line with a 38° tilt and an arrowhead.
Of course, no line tool would be complete without dashed and dotted styles. Thank you for considering this suggestion.82 votes
You can now add directed lines and arrows through the new line content block!

Add a giant question mark on the editor window that links to the knowledge base: why do I need to go the slides.com for this?1 vote
Thanks for the feedback! A link to the knowledge base and help forum has been added to the bottom of the sidebar.
There was already a support link there but it’s only been visible to Pro users up until now. If this ends up increasing our support ticket queue too much we may have to revise. We’re a small team and have to prioritize speedy support for our paying customers.
While using phone as remote control would be nice to have the horizontal AND vertical controls...sometimes I use vertical slides as optional stuff I might want to skip...with remote it just plays them all.1 vote
Thanks for the feedback.
It’s actually already possible to navigate both horizontally and vertically using the remote control view. Try swiping in the direction that you want to navigate. Tapping on the other hand steps through all slides in the presentation, both vertical and horizontal.
YAML's pretty common these days, I was surprised it isn't there.1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately this isn’t possible since YAML isn’t supported by the syntax highlighting library that we’re using (highlight.js).
UPDATE: YAML is now supported by highlight.js and available in the Slides editor.
Making slides is usually a matter of copy-and-paste from an old deck into a new deck (at least in Powerpoint). Copying is either a selection of elements from a slide, or one or more complete slides.
However I found it impossible to do copy-and-paste between different decks at slides.com. It is possible to clone an existing one - but what if it is too late or I want to copy from multiple sources?4 votes
In this presentation (only one slide) http://slides.com/zooomez/wow I have created an iframe containig an animated wowslider on a white background.
It seems the iframe has a background colour (#f0f0f0).
How can I remove this background or set its colour to #ffffff ?3 votes

I have a large presentation file with many iframes to demo content within.
This causes the load of the presentation to lag whilst it spends ages preloading all of the content.
Either give us a global switch to not preload or perhaps a control within the 'iframe' option that allows us to determine if the content is preloaded or loaded when the slide comes into view.1 vote
Just confirmed this to be working. Iframes are only loaded for the three nearest slides. This is checked every time you navigate, if a new iframe appears within the 3-slide distance it will start loading.
Provide an interface option for configuring the line-height of text.31 votes
This has been added! The option is available right next to the letter spacing option, in the left sidebar.
Could we choose the PDF export quality (in pro version) ?
For now, the assets (images) are really poor quality :/8 votes
PDF export quality has been greatly improved and all font families and styles will now come through in the output.
We replaced our whole PDF generation pipeline with new software. This change means that quality is higher and presentations will look identical to how they do in a modern browser (Safari 8 to be specific).
This also applies to deck thumbnails.
