Slide collections/folders for organizing and easier private sharing
It is hard to organize a lot of slides, and share many private slides. It would be great to be able to make a collection or folder of slides (per class, for example) and share that collection with one shareable link, rather than each individual slide.
Being able to sort would also be good (even if it's alphabetical).
61 votesHey! We’ve made it possible to organize decks using tags. Each tag has a unique URL so that you can share them. You can control which tag that’s shown by default when someone goes to your profile page too.

Full screen overview mode
When entering overview mode by hitting escape, it takes you out of full screen. Perhaps offer a button in the center of the four directional arrows for overview, or a different keyboard shortcut that allows you to view the overview mode in full screen.
0 votesThe overview mode can also be toggled via the ‘O’ key, which works when in fullscreen.

add different behaviors for fragments
For example: I want to have one picture appear on screen, and then on the next "fragment," I want to replace that picture with another picture.
I don't want to go onto another slide, I just want to replace one picture with another. It would be perfectly fine if this picture just went above the old one; all I care about is that the audience sees one, and then sees another.
I can't figure out a clean way to do this with slid.es.
1 voteThe described use case should be more straight forward in the new editor that was just launched into public beta. You’ll need to add two images, turn them both into fragments, and drag them on top of each other.

Duplicating slides
I want to duplicate my slides.
19 votesDuplication is now possible via the slide template functionality in the new deck editor. The editor is currently in public beta and enabled by default.

make it so you can choose the order in which fragments appear
it's a bit frustrating making all these fragments on a slide, only to find they come up in the wrong order. can you think about it?
4 votesThis has been added in the new editor which is now live (public beta).

Allow decks on the profile page to be manually sorted.
Allow decks on the profile page to be manually sorted.
I will be making a lot of these for class, and the order seems to be random. It would be good to be able to put them in class order.
8 votesIt’s now possible to sort and search through decks on the profile page! This option is available at the top of the page for any account that has two or more decks.

Add categories to slides or a way to tag them
This will make searching much more versatile.
Example categories can be taken from Haiku Deck's pinterest board: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/422775483739123043/
If you decide to implement this, you should extend it so that slides can be in multiple categories/have multiple tags.
A good search/filter makes slides easier to access, especially through Google. I find myself searching for information and I see different slide presentation sites pop up in the results. Not only does it help me understand the topic, it adds hits to your sites and encourages sign-ups (if they see a sweet presentation and want to create something like that)

iFrame not displaying content
I am placing an iframe into on of my slides and calling a URL outside of slid.es
url: party.wellhey.com/raffle.html
and all I get is an outline of where the iframe is, none of the content is displayed. I thought it may be my code on the page that is being displayed, so I plugged in Google and still nothing.

Preserve font choice when exporting
When exporting to Reveal.js, if you've chosen a non-default font in the Slid.es UI, that is not added to the HTML that you are given as part of the export, so it is lost.
2 votesThis now preserved, see the export to reveal.js feature here: http://slides.com/news/slides-for-developers

SSL for private slides
Many online collaboration platforms already secure content over SSL, and many browsers simply block embeds from non-SSL sources on SSL pages.
Embedding decks in the upgraded edition should be over SSL, or whatever protocol the main page is in. This is why the YouTube embed code doesn't give "http://' in the source attribute, it just gives "//" so the videos can be embedded on SSL pages.
3 votesThe share panel now generates protocol relative embed paths, so embedding a deck under a secure domain will automatically use the SSL route to the deck.

add a foreground attribute that links to a background selector
A UI to add selectors to slides (for linking background and foreground slides when writing CSS).
Similar to what setting an attribute for data-state="" on a <section> does to the <body> when using reveal.js except this time on the relevant backgrounds element.
Allowing more than one selector would be great too

Video Background
Full screen scaled video embed with Javascript API keyboard controls to play/pause the video.
41 votesWe’ve added support for video! Videos can be added in the background or as part of the slide content.
You can insert a video either by uploading it to our servers (100 MB max) or specifying an external URL.
More info about how to add a background video can be found here: http://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/405958-slide-backgrounds

blank theme
Allow selection of a blank theme for color type transition etc where there is no CSS pre-applied.
It would also be great if the palette picker down the side just adds a class number to background and foreground divs so that they can be styled with css without attribute selector hacks.

7 votesThis has been completed. Blank theme options are currently only available in the theme editor but will be introduced to the normal Slides editor after some time of testing.

Allow SVG image uploads
Totally aware that inline SVG works already but for background images you have to do nasty things like host your own and hack CSS off of the inlined slide background colour:
.reveal div[style="background-color: rgba(200, 50, 30, 0.6);"] {background-image:url(remoteimage.svg)}
17 votesWe now support SVG uploads! This includes an option for displaying the SVG either externally () or inline.
This was introduced together with the media library: http://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/552825-media-library

Import slides from PDF
Ability to upload a presentation from PDF format. May just generate an image per slide, since converting the content to the Slides format would result in the loss of styles.
23 votesYou can now import from PDF and PowerPoint. More info and instructions available here: http://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/487268-import-from-pdf-or-powerpoint

Improved Syntax Highlighting
It would be great if syntax highlighting could already be seen in the edit mode, or at least in the preview mode, otherwise it is a real surprise when all of the sudden some code is highlighted you did not expect.
It certainly surprised me the first time.
And it would be great, if the language if the syntax highlighting (HTML, Javascript, Python, etc.) could also be somehow set within the interface.5 votes -
Give each page in a deck its own URL.
- To allow linking from any other site to a specific page within a deck
- To allow reload of specific page in 'fullscreen' after editing
- To align with the restfulness of the interwebs and all that jazz and of course it should be aligned with internal(relative) links
9 votesThis has been a frequent request so we turned on unique URLs on the standard presentation pages a week ago. If you go to a deck, like http://slides.com/news/overpass/, the URL will update with each slide navigation.
We may revisit this to use the history API at a later point as that would produce nicer URLs while not filling up the browser history.

Have a Way to view How much Space you've used out of your 250 mb (or 2gb on pro plan)
For some reason I can't seem to locate how much of my storage I've used up on my account.
If this is not a feature I feel it should be added.
Cheers.
1 voteA storage meter has been added to the user settings page. Here’s what it looks like: http://cl.ly/image/080z1l3U3g2r

Leader/Audience viewing modes
Allow the author of a slide to set the presentation into "audience mode"
Where the authors slide position is followed by the anyone else with the link.
This would kill elluminate webex and even google hangouts when presenting via voice calls as the quality can't be matched over video compression.
This would also be perfect for crowd participation for iframe style content where things like audience voting can be started / turned off
This would also be great for launching live events via a slid.es deck
9 votesIt’s now possible to broadcast a presentation in real-time to your audience. Find out more: http://help.slid.es/knowledgebase/articles/333924
