Autosave.
Its been a couple of times I sleep my computer and when I'm back I get a saving error.
Also, as a docs and iWork user I must admit I'm getting kind of used to autosave. I think it'd be a good (and huge, I bet, in terms of programming, storage, etc) addition. The "complementary" tools that usually come with autosave would be pretty good too (version control being the biggest).
I think it's a great goal though to strive to later in the future.
20 votesThere’s now an auto-save toggle in the editor sidebar!

Change profile photo without gravatar
A common strategy for signing up for services online is to add an identifier in the email.
e.g: john+Identifier@email.com
For accounts registered in this way gravatar can not find the photo/email. Having a fallback to gravatar in order to upload the photo would be great.
20 votesWe have added the ability to upload profile pictures.
Gravatar—our previous third party solution for profile pictures—is now only used as a fallback if you haven’t uploaded a picture.

Allow SVG image uploads
Totally aware that inline SVG works already but for background images you have to do nasty things like host your own and hack CSS off of the inlined slide background colour:
.reveal div[style="background-color: rgba(200, 50, 30, 0.6);"] {background-image:url(remoteimage.svg)}
17 votesWe now support SVG uploads! This includes an option for displaying the SVG either externally () or inline.
This was introduced together with the media library: http://help.slides.com/knowledgebase/articles/552825-media-library

Image Library
Uploads Library. It would be nice to have a section where I can see and manage images I have uploaded. This would be great to re-use my own images on different presentations without having to upload multiple times.

Duplicate slides
Be able to duplicate single slides would be great.
For e.g. when changing only one word it will be much easier than copy paste each slide content and position it.16 votesIt’s now possible to easily duplicate the current slide. This option is available inside of the templates selector which appears when you click to add a new slide.

Insert code from the editor toolbar.
As a software engineer, I think this is a basic requirement when I make presentations.
15 votesThis has been addressed; there’s a code format option in the toolbar and highlight.js kicks in on the deck page (not during editing).

Unlimited Speaker Notes
I'd like to have more than 300 characters for speaker notes and allow the speaker notes section to be scrollable within the presenter view.
I usually number my notes so I know when to reference a new fragment in my slide.14 votesWe’ve removed the 300-character limit on speaker notes!
Notes that are 300+ characters long may not be immediately visible but they can be accessed by scrolling.

Speaker notes
Having a simple drop down comment box that rests below the slide might be a cool way to allow users to keep notes for each of their slides. Right now I'm writing my script either in a word document or "off screen" outside the visible scroll in the main container.
14 votesSpeaker notes are now supported. Find out more: http://help.slid.es/knowledgebase/articles/333926

Revise Fragment system
When fragments overlap, it becomes incredibly frustrating to order and control their appearance since their controller can reside within another fragment's bounding box, making it select that controller automatically.
14 votesWe just released a major redesign of the fragment mode to address a few different issues:
1. There’s a new sidebar where you can see all elements on the slide listed out. This lets you reach overlapping elements and enables you to create nested fragments (useful for nested bullet lists).
2. As soon as there are two or more fragments, a new interface will appear that allows you to preview fragments without leaving the current view.
3. There’s a new button for resetting all fragments.
Let us know if you run into any issues or have any comments.
Thanks!

The support of gifv, webm or video background
The ability instead of just having images for backgrounds, allowing the user to use various formats for full screen video

You can insert a video either by uploading it to our servers (100 MB max) or specifying an external URL.

Upsizing for embedded decks
I think it would be very useful to be able to upsize a deck embedded into a personal site, blog or news article.
